About Khalsa Fostering

At Khalsa Fostering we would like to provide all young people with the opportunities and possibilities they need to be happy, safe and healthy. In modern life, there are so many opportunities to excel in sports, dance, music, academics.

We believe that every individual should have the facilities to fulfill their dreams. We would like to ensure that children despite their background, colour, race have an equal opportunity to be what they choose to be in all areas of life. If a child is in care is passionate about a particular field or extra curricular activity then we want to support them and guide them through the process. Often there are cultural needs as well as emotional, psychological and religious ones that need to be nurtured.

What We Do?

Khalsa Fostering is a UK based community interest company that was established in 2020, as the growing number of children going into Foster care became prevelant.

Khalsa Fostering are also actively encouraging Foster Parents to care for Sikh children at this time and we believe we can provide an unparalleled level of support, educational resources and 1-2-1 communication to seamlessly establish a bridge between a secure, safe home environment and traditional Sikh values in a modern world.”

Our Mission

Inspire, educate and motivate more people to become Foster parents and have a positive impact on a child that needs it most. Creating and connecting a wider pool of suitable foster parents to be able to cater for the different backgrounds of children that are in need of care. Broaden the understanding and provide resources to Foster Parents caring for Sikh children, to ensure they stay connected to their Faith. Providing a platform and bringing those that have been in care together to share their journeys.

Our Aim

We aim to raise awaresness about the level of children that go into foster care daily and to encourage people to become carers for children and provide them with a loving, stable and caring home. We not only source suitable families for children in need of fostering, but we offer training and one-to-one support to ensure we empower our children and their families to build a brighter future together.

Our Values

The values we choose to instill in the famiies we are working with are based around the five beloved ones. Who were they? in 1699 five people became the first to committ to the ideals and beliefs embedded by the tenth master Guru Gobind Singh ji and crystalised by the teachings. We promise to work with families and children with the belief that these five virtues are those that are needed to keep a family together, happy and loved.
